Since our inception in
1998, we have continued to harness innovative solutions and
technological advances from our motherfabs to meet the
customers’ needs for faster time-to-market, short lead-times
and the highest possible quality wafers.
1) Tape-out to First silicon
Recognising the customers’ needs for quicker time-to-market,
we place very high priority on “first-time right”
prototypes.

2) Design Support
In our quest for “first-time right” prototypes, we have a
Design Support team dedicated to helping ensure this for our
customers. This team provides, among other services,
extensive pre-tape-out activities such as IP, library
declaration and checks and Design Rule checks.
After a prototype has completed processing and shipped to
the customer, our engineering team closely follows its
progress, in order to continuously learn from new products
and improve on subsequent tape-outs.
3) Multi-Project Wafer (MPW) and Multi-Layer-Reticle (MLR)
The MPW & MLR services are meant to provide designers with
the opportunity to verify their designs not only with swift
turnaround but also with the added advantage of lowest
possible prototyping costs & maximum flexibility.
They are available to our customers either at SSMC or our
motherfabs.
In each of the MPWs, several products are placed in the same
mask set.

For MLRs, multiple layers of the same product are grouped
intelligently into the same mask layer. This reduces the
physical number of masks needed and lowers the total mask
costs. MLRs do not combine databases of other customers and
so have a flexible tape-out schedule.
